Hunting, and all its awesomness to the world.

The subject came up while I was at international cinema, and the show was about autism and animal rights. Then I get this text from my awesome friend Annie Smoot, that said I got you a drink from sip it. So I go out side the theater to talk to her and get the fantastic drink she got me! But I was explaining to her what the movie was about, and thats how the animal rights convo started.....
Hunting is one subject that I do care deeply about, so this entry will be mostly toward Annie, but to yall that don't approve of hunting.  First off I love hunting because it is incredibly fun, its a challenge, most the time with a choice group of people, bonding time, you get to hike around and experience gods country first hand, its camping, a lot of recreation involved, and most importantly hunting  is a means of population control.  (example that deals with hunting, but not by humans and is a completely different subject all together, but people stay with me!)
    Wolves in yellowstone
The last grey wolf in YS was spotted around 1930 and were not there until the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf in 1995. But while they were gone, there was an over population of basically every animal there. Lets take the Majestic Rocky Mtn Elk, Wolves pack hunt these, but when there wasn't wolves there, the number of Elk increased very rapidly, and with that many Elk, they all grazed the crap out of the place, until there was hardly any sort of plants there. When there isnt plants, other species start to die out.
So basically I'm trying to say that hunters do the same thing, thats why there is only so many tags out there for hunting the different types of animals. Population control!! But hunters do ALOT more for the environment than "I hate killing" peta, Animal rights people. Thats because most of the money that goes to supporting and keeping up our environment comes from hunting. here are some numbers:

** $746 million — Annual amount of money spent by hunters in the United States on licenses and public land access fees alone. Sportsmen’s licensing revenues account for more than half of all funding for state natural resource agencies
** $300 million — Additional monies contributed to wildlife conservation every year by the more than 10,000 private hunting-advocate organizations, like the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
** $4.2 billion — Amount of money sportsmen have contributed to conservation through a 10% federal excise taxes on firearms, ammunition, and gear since the 1937 Pittman-Robertson Act established the tax. Millions of acres of public-use land has been purchased, preserved, and maintained with this money.

So besides helping the environment with all the money hunting offers refuge from the day to day struggles and is a way to stay physically fit, while bringing the fantastic, incredible, yummy foods home. Hunters love the land more than anyone, thats why we want to keep it as clean and kept up as possible, and if you are worried about ALL the animals dying... only 7% OF THE US hunts, while 67% agrees with it.
Well here are my thoughts of hunting and how its awesome to do, and its very beneficial to our environment and economy.

Return To the place I call "Home"

Home.... it can be many places, In high school I thought my home was our incredible baseball field where we practiced and gave our lives to for three years. Home can also be the Mountains where I am able to find peace and keep my sanity. But since I graduated high school about a year and a half ago, I haven't lived at Home all that much.  A couple days after graduation Jake Crump and I decided to spend most the summer hunting, fishing, tending, camping, watching movies and eating unreal amounts of food in what I consider the best place in the universe and yes thats Louisiana! After such a crazy redneck summer, I headed down to the land of turkeys for college AKA Snow College.  Spend a semester there ( which was the best couple months of my life!!) meet some great friends who I miss dearly because of all the dumb/ crazy things we did.  But then decided to go one semester, then leave on my mission, but I ended up leaving after the second semester got over, so I was pretty bummed I could have gone back, but oh well. Then I left on my mission and came back because I had Discovered that my ADHD was like 10000x worse than we thought.  We thought we had everything taken care of in 9th grade, but apparently not, I just learned how to cope with it.  But the MTC is unlike anything you have ever experienced ever... I would try to describe it to y'all, but unless you've been there and have been there for a mission, you have no idea what its like.  The most spiritual place I've ever been to in my life! But it reviles the "flaws" (for lack of a better word)  in your character very fast and you learn a lot about your self and the gospel real quick! But back to the main story.. I came home to get my medications fixed and under control, not because I didn't want to go, or I had to much anxiety or missed my friends and family too much, Because I was waiting my WHOLE LIFE for that moment, so don't you EVER think I didn't put ALL that I had it, yeah it was for a short time, but I gave it my all so don't get any weird ideas.
A couple weeks after getting back from my mission I was praying about what I should do with life like School, work, blah blah blahh but I felt I needed to check a website of a place that we stayed for scout camp and varies activities and check for jobs. I found a job link and send in an application for being a " Recreational Guide" And the summer was more than half way over, so I thought there was NO way I was going to be able to get it, then The NEXT day I receive a phone call from The manager asking me about my application I sent in, and after talking to her for about 10 minutes she said " Whens the earliest you can be down here?" and I said Tomorrow and she said "Okay You start working here in 2 days"..... Im thinking " is this a joke??" but I got the job and worked there for 6 or 7 weeks and it was a very awesome summer of Rappelling, 4 wheeling, skeet shooting, paint balling, searching for geods and Squatch. I met some very incredible coworkers! Met alot of crazy tourists and Foreigners!  2 days after my contract ended there, I was to report to school again!
THis is my 2nd semester of college, and Its alot different than last year, but still incredible! Great people and BEing in San Pete makes me happy! BUT i've come to realize I love coming "Home" the giant warm soft bed, the never ending food, TV and movies are good, but It really comes down to the family
I didn't realize how much my family meant to me untill THis weekend of thanks giving break! They are the best and I take them for granted ALL the time and I feel terrible about it, because I dont show love all to well, but If any of yall are reading this I do love yall so much!!!
The main story is I LOVE Louisiana, outdoors, Zion National PArk, San Pete but MOstly my family!!

Music

This is a subject that has been on my mind a lot lately, because of peoples arrogance and closed mindedness toward different types of music.  I can say this because as much as I don't want to admit this, I used to be one of them.  I used to just think the music I was listening to was the best just because I liked it, then from hanging out with different groups of friends I was able to hear just about every kind of music.  So before you go and say " You're music sucks and is stupid" try to have a somewhat educated conversation with the person you're telling that to, and see why they like that particular music.

Lets take country music for example.  Country isn't for some people obviously... but you can hate if you want but they reasons why I love country music is because I feel like I can relate to a lot of the songs that I listen to, and that its what a lot of people go through on a daily basis not songs about hitting the clubs with your gang, hooking up with everyone there, selling or consuming drugs and alcohol, making it rain on the shawtys. I know country music can seem very dumb and uneducated at times like the song "Red Solo Cup" but I really do think that country music offers good messages and is overall happy.

HardCore/ Metal/ Screamo Music is often just looked at as "Devil Music" and by often I mean everyone who doesn't listen to it, I understand not liking the screaming in it but let me tell you why I listen to such bands as The Ghost Inside, Attack Attack, Pierce The Veil and We Came As Romans to name a few. I listen to this music because I enjoy the Guitar and drum Shredding, it pumps me up like no other, the "Stick it to the man" attitude, how basically anyone can start a band and better their life because of it,  and the thing I like most about it is the Lyrics behind the screaming and shredding of the instruments. The Lyrics are kind of hard to understand sometimes, but if you look them up you will read very good, clean, inspirational Lyrics.  Lets take The Ghost Inside for example. TGI's new cd is called "Get What You Give" This CD and The song "Engine 45" are wrote for the  people and friends and family of drug addicts.
"This addiction came like a freight train.
You're coming off of the rails again.
It's hard for you to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
If it's a war you came to see you will never see a waved white flag in front me.
I can't end up dead, I wont be misled.
I'll keep singing this song inside my head
On a one way course set for destruction, full speed ahead.
The time has come for you to start things over.
So hold on, full speed ahead.
All my life I've been waiting for something,
That never came. It never came.
But I'm still saying...
All my life I've been searching for something,
To break these chains. To break these chains.
But I'll keep swinging... "

So before you go say someone else's music sucks, find out why they like it and don't be a closed minded idiot. :)

Out Cold

Yes,  Im going to be talking to yall in this blog about the movie "Out Cold" Alcohol and How it gets people out cold and now that is is officially snowing here in E town what fun awesome activities that winter brings.

First order of Business is the movie "Out Cold" this happens to be one of my most favorite and cherished movies of all time!  Out Cold is about all these super cool, crazy, funny group of hooligans that live in Alaska and for their Jobs they basically run around partying and causing chaos among the town, but to pay for this they Work at a Snow Resort named "Bull Mountain." (later a rich mean guy tries  to take over the place by buying everyone out and trying to civilize the place) But they are chair lift workers and snow boarding instructors, which I think would be the most awesome job in the world besides getting paid to Rappel, skeet shoot, 4 wheel, paint ball and zip line... oh wait I did that! The first time I ever watched this movie was in 4th grade with Tanner Dawes, and Jake Crump and I made it tradition on the night of the first snow fall or the eve of the first snow boarding day, we would watch this to gets tons of kicks and giggles, also it has some awesome videos of people shredding. So To sum up this Movie before I explain the whole thing, Watch it!! Some parts are kinda weird (just a warning) But I really really encourage you to watch it! I have it so if you wanna watch it just holler at your boy!

also here are some quotes from the movie
"No regrets, thats my motto. That and everybody wang chung tonight."
"Can you get an STD from a polar bear?"
"Did somebody say king of the mountai mountain mountain king of the mountain king of the mountain king of the mountain. "

"Carpe Diem, sieze the . . . carp."
"Ford was president, Nixon was in the white house, and FDR was runnin' this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-the-wall town in what is now called Utah."

Second matter of business. DRINKING! drinking is so so so incredibly stupid! first of all it does nothing good for you at all, secondly you look very very very stupid and three aint no body got time for that! its crazy expensive and you are a college student, so you are supposed to be a more responsible person, not just drink.  Also how does it offer you an escape? The world is not going to wait for you to get over being drunk, you still have to go out in the real world and face it!

Lastly, the WInter is the best! hands down! You can Snow Board, Ski, go sledding , ice skating, ice fishing, go to to the lights at temple square, you have an excuse to cuddle and drink hot chocolate, snow ball fights!!! and The feeling of warming up after being cold is better than being hot to cold.  I mean You can only take of so many clothes, but you can always add more layers to keep you sheltered from the weather!

still hoping people read these things and sorry if the words went smaller or grey, I have no idea how that happened! Well happy snow day! Do work!!

Its a start....

Well well seeing as some of my friends have blogs, I decided I might have to join this interment diary/ journal page!  In all honestly Im doing this because I have a fear of writing papers and essays so, in theory this should help that weird fear of essays by being able to express myself and feelings by typing them out, instead of keeping them in my head.
Lets start... hmm where to start?? Do I just go on my usual rants about life in general? Am I supposed to talk about how I'm feeling today, or have a certain subject in mind to write about?? SHould I talk about politics and how I try not to care about them because they are all evil anyways? Hunting? should I tell you about how much I love it and how it keeps me sane? or how I hate poachers because they think that rules, regulations and laws don't apply to them? How to hunt the correct way, like not drinking soda before you go hunt coyotes because believe it or not they can smell it off your breathe? Should I talk about my inner, deeper problems such as How ADHD makes my like 10000000x's more difficult than you could ever imagine?  But today since Im positive no one is reading this anyways Ill just talk about last night.

Last night some great buds and I decided to make whats called a "Betos Run" its where you get into a car of choice, and make the terribly long voyage of a life time, hour drive to a place provo (I like to call it the most sheltered place in the universe) because betos is open 24/7 and the food is truly amazing to say the least.
After trying countless times to go out of our comfort zone and ask other people to hang out with us and to enjoy the awesome food and being able to realize there is a world outside of SanPete county, people said they would like to go, but in all reality they were just being nice to us.
ANother point, if you dont want to hang out with some one or have other plans, let them know instead of playing the "Ill tell them I want to hang out and do fun stuff card" just to get them to leave you alone. We are in college folks, out of high school.  So thats means people are more mature ( in theory) but just say it how it is, people will understand.
But i have to go now, but I think this a good start since I made this Blog ten minutes ago and havent been able to fix the setting yet, but I guess Ill blog ya later, have a good day yall!
